Big and beautiful; up to three pounds, deep rose beefsteaks have lovely fluting and possess exceptional flavor. 

 

This variety is a Tennessee heirloom and was raised by Mr. Buckley of Dresden and maintained for many years by Mr. Joe Atnip who named it after his young daughter.  “Britches” was a common nickname for the little ones in the South.

This is tomato heaven. This tastes like an old-fashioned tomato should taste. Very heavy (dense) and juicy. Delicate skin. Not as good a producer in my soil as Cherokee Purple, but tastes even better. Better producer in my soil than brandywine and much better taste.
