Texwine
Indeterminate. Regular leaf. 85 days. A sister line to Dixiewine, Texwine is another recombination of the original Brandywine x Neves Azorean Red cross made in 2006. Susan Anderson of Elgin, Texas, selected this line, and grew it out in Texas heat, returning seeds to me here in Southwestern Indiana where they sustained healthy, regular leaf vines and good production through our unusually hot and dry summer of 2012.

While we were in an extreme and exceptional drought, as designated by the national weather service (NOAA), throughout the growing season, Texwine never failed to give me a reasonable yield of extra large, deep red, delicious beefsteak tomatoes. However, due to weather conditions, many seeds appeared small and underdeveloped, so I hand sorted the largest seeds and can provide only 15 seeds per pack at this time.

Texwine is what my person would consider a very fine red tomato. As described above it is deep red in color with excellent taste. Slightly better than its sister Dixiwine. Plants were compact with moderate to good yield. If production was a little better this tomato would warrant 5 stars.
